Devlog 4 - New Planets, New Materials

Welcome to the 4th devlog of Little Backyard!

This devlog took a little longer than what has been uploaded in the past. I wanted to wait until I had actual substance to present to the public, rather than simply stick to a set schedule to upload. Please leave your comments, criticisms, and opinions below! I am constantly looking for feedback, and want to make this game appeal to you as the player as much as it appeals to me as the developer.

These past weeks have been filled with new content. 4 new resource cards have been created. These resources will be obtained from mining the rocks and foliage found on different planets. Additionally, any and all resources will have their own crafting recipes and use-cases, though that is beyond the scope of this devlog. Please leave comments and feedback on your thoughts on the resource cards!

Additionally, 2 new planet types have been introduced, Desert and Barren.

Barren - A moon-like planet with little atmosphere. These planets  truly represent what it means to explore the universe. They showcase the near infinite space before them, and are home to many resources and rock formations that the player will be able to discover and bend to their will.

Desert - Who hasn't heard of a desert planet before? (Tatooine anyone?) These planets represent the double-edged sword that deserts offer in gaming, hostility and tranquility. Enjoy the soothing breezes on these planets, and discover that despite its appearance, the desert can make a calming home.

Lastly, should I release a demo for this project on the itch page, or should I wait until the game is more or less finished until releasing a demo? Itch has a policy of preventing projects from appearing on searches if no downloadable content is on the page.

That's it for this devlog! Please feel free to leave your thoughts, comments, and feedback in the comment section.
