Devlog 2 - Fixing Key Issues and Adding Effects

This past week has seen lots of minor changes to Little Backyard. Though these changes are minor, there are many of them and add up to the overall play experience. The changes are as follows:

- Designed a fully 3D tree model to fit within art style (better lighting techniques still to come)

- Added head bobbing when walking on planets

- Implemented a simply LOD system for suns to fit within art style. Stars appear as octahedrons from far away and turn into icosohedrons as you get closer.

- Minor fixes to the planet atmosphere and ring shaders.

- Nebulas now change color as you fly through them, this needs tweaking to be more visually appealing.

- Fixed major foliage generation issues.

- More varied cloud generation with individual weights.

- Added blue noise to cloud generation for a smoother effect.

I cannot express how excited I am to get this project published on Itch. I want this project to look good and feel good as you play it. Because of this, I'm balancing what Little Backyard needs to be published AND look good with wanting to release this to the public. I plan to upload devlogs whenever I have a substantial amount to post, which should be about once a week or so.

If you like what you see, and want this project to be a reality, then I encourage you to follow this project. This project is constantly updated and has been my passion project for the past year. Little Backyard will be free to play upon release, and will appeal to the space pioneers in all of us who wish to explore the universe.
